Privacy Policy

The short version
Tasky does not track you. It does not collect analytics. It does not phone home. The only network request Tasky ever makes is to validate your license key when the app launches, and that request goes to the licensing provider (Polar.sh). That is it.
Who operates Tasky
Tasky is built and operated by me (ibnuh), an individual developer. There is no company or corporation behind it. If you have questions, reach out via the Contact page.
Data Tasky does not collect
- No analytics or usage tracking
- No crash reports sent to any server
- No personal information collected
- No browsing or app usage data
- No cookies or web tracking
- No third-party SDKs or trackers embedded in the app
Network requests
Tasky makes exactly one type of network request: license validation. When the app launches, it contacts the Polar.sh API to verify that your license key is valid. This request includes:
- Your license key
- A machine identifier (hardware UUID) used to associate the license with your Mac
No other data is transmitted. If the network is unavailable, Tasky continues to work normally using cached validation for up to 7 days.
Local data storage
Tasky stores your preferences (appearance, behavior settings) locally using macOS UserDefaults. Your license key is stored securely in the macOS Keychain. This data never leaves your Mac.
Permissions
Tasky requires Accessibility permission to manage windows and optionally Screen Recording permission for window thumbnail previews. These permissions are used solely for app functionality and no screen content is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or any tracking scripts. The contact form is powered by Formspree, which processes form submissions; refer to Formspree's privacy policy for details on how they handle submitted data.
Third-party services
Tasky uses the following third-party services:
- Polar.sh for license key management and payment processing
- Formspree for the website contact form
These services have their own privacy policies. Tasky itself does not share any data with anyone else.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Since Tasky collects virtually no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
